GoPeWi attack strategy for Town Hall 8 (with pictures)

In Town Hall 8, there is no doubt that Clash of Clans becomes way more interesting than the previous TH levels. In this level, not only you can use three new very powerful troop(PEKKA, Golem and Valkyrie), but the strength of your previous troops(i.e. troop level) also increase a lot. There are vast possibilities of new troop combination to try at Town Hall 8, but among them there are some attack strategis which are very famous among the majority of CoC players. In this article, I am going to explain to you such a powerful strategy named GoPeWi.

GoPeWi aka Golem, PEKKA, Wizards combo is one of the best ground attack strategy available in TH 8. In TH 8, the defensive strength of a base is also increased along with the offensive strength. So in this TH level, you are introduced with two troops that can take a huge amount of damage (i.e. Golem and PEKKA). Golem's have an immense Hit point, and PEKKAs, though can't tank as much as Golem's, can deal a lot of damage. Beside this there comes the Wizards, and believe me max Wizards(level 5) are totaly unstoppable if they are covered from the defensive units. So these three troops are a real nightmare to the opponent. Specially in Clan War, they are Damn effective.

The main plan is to push your Golems, PEKKAs and few Wizards to the core of the base. Once the core is cleared, send the rest of your Wizards behind your tanking troops for clear up.

Now let's see what is the preferable troop composition for this strategy:- (it is recommended to use your max level troops for best result)

Golem:- 2
PEKKA:- 2
Wizard:- 18-20
Wall Breakers:- 3-5

Healing spell:- 2
Rage spell:- 1
Poison spell:- 1

CC troop:- 1 PEKKA
CC spell:- 1 Poison spell

As I mentioned above, in this strategy, Golems will work as the major Tanking troops, PEKKAs can both take damages and work as destructive units and it is the Wizard's job to clear all the buildings form behind. Another good point of this strategy is that you don't have to worry about the defensive CC troops because they they can be killed in the way by Wizards. But before deploying your troops, it is necessary to create a good funnel to ensure that your troops will go straight wherever you wanted to send them. The basic fundamental of funneling is to clear the buildings that are situated in side or corner as the troops will attack the buildings whichever is nearest to them. So if you clear 1 or 2 buildings from both sides, your  troops will not be distracted by those buildings and will go straight towards the core.

So at first make a funnel with the help of Golems and couple of Wizards. Just deploy the two Golems(keep a little distance between them so that they can distract a larger number of defensive structures) and behind them send 1 or 2 Wizards.

When the funnel is created, deploy your Wall Breakers to break the first layer of wall to make a decent way for your troops.

After that send your PEKKAs, Barbarian King and half of the Wizards(keep the rest as back up troops.

Wisely use your spells. Use them when the defensive structures are large in number.

Send the rest of your Wizards when your tanking troops need some help to clear up the defenses, or use them for clear up.

Use your Poison spell on the defensive CC troops/Defensive Hero's.

That's it. Though it is not that complicated attack strategy, but you need some practice to send your troops to the way you want. When you gain you perfection at this, you can get 3 star in almost any Town Hall 8 bases.

Pros:-
*Very powerful against almost any kind of TH 8 bases.
**Strong strategy for Trophy Pushing and Clan War (and for farming gold)

Cons:-
*Very costly(both in Elixir and Dark Elixir) and time consuming.
**Not so good for farming.
***This strategy may go wrong if the funnel is not created properly.
