Mass Dragon/DragLoon attack for Town Hall 7 and 8:- Detailed explanation with picture

In Town Hall 7, we get access to a new troop called Dragons. Dragons are the mighty flying troops that can attack both air and ground unit. With the huge hit point and massive damage, the Dragons seems undisputed in Town Hall 7 and 8. It is one of the strongest and most reliable strategy available in both the TH levels.

Before we start, let's take a quick look into the available troops and spells capacity of both of the Town Halls. In each of them, you will get the troop capacity of 200, can take 3 spells along with you (in TH 8 you can take 2 additional dark spells, one in your own army and the other in you Clan Castle). You will also have your Barbarian King in both of the TH levels ( can be upgraded upto level 5 in TH 7 and upto level 10 in TH 8).

If we look into the troops composition, both the TH level is similar to one another. Only the spell composition differs from one another.

In Town Hall 7, you can take:-

Dragons:- 8-10.

Balloon:- 4-8 (if you have level 7 Balloons in your CC, you may not need this).
Lightning spell:- 3.

Clan Castle troop (highly recommended):-
Balloons:- 4 (atleast of level 5).

For Town Hall 8, you should take:-

Dragons:- 8-10 (atleast level 2, for maxed out bases you will need level 3 as well).
Balloons:- 4-8 (atleast level 4).

CC troops:-
Balloon:- 5 (As higher as possible).

Spell combos for TH 8:-

Combo 1:-(Recommended)

Lightning Spell:- 2 (Must be of level 5).
Rage Spell:- 1 (any level).
Earthquake Spell:- 1(any level, if you have not yet unlocked your Earthquake spell, take a poison spell and ask the Earthquake Spell in your CC, as it is mandatory for this combo).
CC spell:- 1 Haste Spell (you can also take Poison or Earthquake Spell here

Combo 2:-

Lightning Spell:- 3 (level 4).
Poison Spell:- 1.
CC spell:- 1 Haste Spell or Poison Spell.

Now let's come to the strategy. In this strategy, the scouting has an important role in succes. You have to point out where the Anti Air Defenses are and how can you reach them as fast as possible. Some bases are designed with the Air Defenses in its core, and it is very hard to reach them due to the outer obstacles. Beware of such bases. Because if you cannot destroy them all in the first minutes (or one and half) you attack may be fail. The success rate of this strategy (in my personal experience and attacks done by my Clan mates) is 99% 3 star for TH 7 and 90% 3 star for TH 8 (the rest 10% failures are due to the Anti Dragon bases in which you must not try this attack.

What is an anti Dragon base?

An anti Dragon base is a base with wisely places Air Defenses in the deep core of the bases. The outer layer is decked with other trash building and defensive structures which affects the Dragons to move around the base instead of penetrating it. Here is an example of an Anti Dragon base:-

But if you got a base with easy access to the Air Defenses, your opponent has no chance to survive. The basic strategy is, to take out one Air Defense with Lightning Spell (or Lightning+ Earthquake), then destroy the other two Air Defenses with your Dragons. Once the 3 Air Defenses are down, your Dragons will do rest of the work by their own. Now look at the step by step guide.

1. At first, destroy one of the Air Defenses with your Lightning and Earthquake (choose that one Air Defense which is hard to reach)

2. Then deploy your Dragons near the Air Defenses. If the Air Defenses are spread into two corners, divide your dragon army and send 4/5 Dragons for each of the Air Defense (in that case you need to bring more Balloons in your troop composition apart from the CC Balloons, because the CC troops cannot be divided into two groups. Send your CC Balloons behind one group of Dragons, then deploy your own Balloon after the other group.

In Town Hall 8, use your Rage Spell wisely so that maximum number of Dragons can take the advantage of the spell.

That's it guys, you have done your job, now just sit back and watch the Dragons to destroy the entire base.

* Sometime Dragons are distracted by other non defensive structures and changed the path you have planned for them. So before deploying them at a time, at first deploy a single one to clear up one or two building which is situated in the side. So that the Dragons will be funneled into the center.

**If there are some building in the corner of the base, you can take 4-5 Archers instead of one Balloon and deploy them in the corners to clean the trash buildings up. Otherwise you may run out of time.

Use your Barbarian King either to distract the defenses or to clean up the base.

Pros:- 1.Most effective attack strategy of TH 7 and 8.
            2.Failure rate is minimum.
            3.Works like a charm in Clan War.

Cons:- 1. Takes a long time and huge amount of elixir to train. You cannot farm elixir either in Multiplayer battle or in Clan War.
             2. As Dragons have no preferable targets, they can distracted from the path you planned. This can results a failure.
